Checkerboard is the trademark of Pullman hardwood handles. It is made by hand by alternately laminating pieces of jarrah and maple and then turning the resulting blank.
The resulting chessboard look is a real eye-catcher. The result is a functional, very distinctive, haptically very pleasant handle.
